I’ve got a story to tell…. but if you want to skip right to the deal where you can get the $5 Visa Prepaid Card… click here for that link. Otherwise, here is my story!
I have pretty great health coverage, so I tend to be able to get whatever prescriptions I need. I know that I am VERY lucky in that regard!
However, a couple of years ago I had c-diff (it’s quite a story that I won’t bore you with) and the medication that would work best wasn’t covered by my insurance. In addition, it was VERY expensive. So I could either 1) use the less effective medication that my insurance would cover, or 2) pay a LOT of money for a medication that would work better.
I’m cheap…. so this was a hard decision. But c-diff is also TERRIBLE and I wanted to feel better as fast as I possibly could. Someone suggested that I check GoodRx and see if they had a discount code for it. Low and behold, they did!! I ended up being able to get the better medication AND not pay a crazy high amount from it (and I did feel better literally in 12 hours).
Whether or not you have health insurance, I suggest you check out GoodRx when you need a prescription. It’s free to get the discount card. You can search their site by the medication that you need and then the place you want to get it. I found that my grocery store had the best deal when I used their discount, not my usual pharmacy. Your mileage may very.
As an added bonus, if you sign up for the free prescription discount card right now (new users only), you can get a $5 Vise Prepaid Card (you’ll get the card the first time you use an in-pharmacy GoodRx coupon).
There’s really no down side to it! You won’t find the deal on their homepage (I looked for it) so you have to use these special links to get to it. Limited time only…. I have no idea when it will end!
