Score a Free Movie from Amazon

December 6, 2024 By Tricia Leave a Comment

A couple of months ago we wrote about how you could get a $5 Amazon credit by watching a commercial. Today we are even more excited because we were able to get enough credits for a whole movie! By stacking watching 3 commercials for $3 each, we earned $9 in Amazon Prime Video credits. You do need to have a Fire Stick or FireTV for this to work.

Read on to find out exactly what you need to do to get your free movie (rental or purchase):

Find and Watch the Commercials

Currently there are 3 different commercials you can watch for $3 each and the credits all expire January 30, 2025. You can find the commercials in two ways, but sometimes you have to be patient!

1– The advertisement carousel at the top of the screen will scroll through different ads or you can manually scroll through them.

2– If the screen goes to screensaver and starts showing ads, they may rotate through there.

The ads you are looking for are: Ford, LEGO, and Fairlife.

After you click to watch the commercial, you will receive an Amazon email (usually about 10 minutes) with the details, and then the credits will appear in your account.

Find a Movie for $9 or Less

The credits can be used on movies or TV shows in the Prime Video section on the web, mobile, or your television. Credits are automatically applied. Although the fine print of each email I received says that promotions cannot be combined, all 3 of my credits show up together when I go to pay for a movie.

You can use them to rent a movie (which is a lot easier to find for under $9) or to purchase a movie. If the movie is over $9, you just pay the difference. I actually have a credit still from the last one of these, so I have $14!

Here’s an example of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, which is currently $14.99, marked down to $7.99.

When I click on “More Purchase Options,” it shows me my $9.00 in Prime Video Credits

Because the movie was already marked down to $7.99, I now get it free! And I still have another $1.01 to use on my next purchase.

Note that if you are a Prime member who also has credits from no rush delivery, these will show up there.

Did It Work For You?

Were you able to get a movie or tv show for free? Do you have any tips for others who are trying? What are your suggestions for movies that are $9 or less to use the credits on?
