Ideas for a Special Family Day

Are you looking for something special to do with your family for Valentine's Day but want to save money? Here are some of our favorite suggestions!
Make cookies to share with friends and family. Spend your Valentine's Day making something for someone else! Need a sugar cookie recipe? One of our favorite easy recipes is the Ultimate Sugar Cookie from Crisco. Want to make a nice dinner? See our Valentine's Day recipes from Cooking with Karen.

Spend some time coloring! No need to buy expensive coloring books. There are plenty of free resources online. Our very favorite? Kids Color Pages! They even have a Valentine's Day section.

Start a tradition of reading books to each other on Valentine's Day. There are so many Valentines Books out there for all ages.

Volunteer in your community. Show your love for each other by showing your love for your fellow man. Find an opportunity at VolunteerMatch.org.

Catch up your scrapbooks--with a little help from your family! Kids can help pick out paper colors, borders, and stickers. Dad can round corners on pictures. The whole family can journal together.

Looking for Indianapolis family activities? Check out our Indy Events page.

Whatever you do with your family for Valentine's Day, remember that LOVE should be at the heart of it!
