I’ve always been a little interested by psychics and have gone twice in my life. Both times the psychics had been referred by friends and both of my experiences were incredible. They told me things about my past and present that were very reliable, which led me to believe the things that they told me about my future. Most of what I can remember that they told me came true.

One of the psychics that I really liked also did phone readings. My mom called her and got an incredibly accurate reading over the phone. That was the first time that I got the idea that online psychics might just be legitimate. Fast forward 2 years and a friend approached me about an online psychic network with which she works. I was very skeptical and actually blew it off for a month. But circumstances collided and I found myself wondering if it might just be worth trying.

I did a lot of searching around the AskNow.com website. They make it very clear that it is for “entertainment purposes” only, but I know that’s because it is required by law that they not make any claims that would lure people into something unsuspectingly. I used one of the package deals that give me X number of minutes (right now they have 15 minutes for $10). I read through all of the bios of the psychics listed as well as the reviews and eventually chose one.

I was nervous when I called. It felt strange. The process was easy enough, and I was connected with the psychic of my choice quickly. There wasn’t any wasting minutes having me tell myself about her or her telling herself about me. We got right to it. She asked only my first name and my birthdate.

While I won’t go into everything that she told me because some of it was very personal, I have to say that 80% of it was very accurate. 10% I didn’t feel was accurate and the other 10% I can’t verify other way. It was definitely as legitimate a reading as the ones that I have had in person. Here are some things that she said to me, and I wonder if she said the exact same things to everyone else if they would feel that their reading was also at least 80% accurate:

My daughters are intelligent and healthy with bright futures

My children have guardian angels watching over them

My mom is a strong, hard-working woman with too much stress in her life right now

My sister and I took different paths but are both happy with where we are

My husband fell in love with me the first time that he saw me and we are soul mates

Some of our friends are jealous of our marriage because of how good it is

In general my life is incredibly positive and the only thing negative comes from some of the people around me but they are outweighed by the number of positive friends that I have

I think everything she said above is true about my life. If she said the exact same things to you, would it also be true? If not, maybe she was pretty accurate and it is worth calling yourself. If so, maybe I should be more skeptical?

I have to say that I relayed ALL of the things that she said to me to my mother, my husband, and one of my closest friends. Across the board they agreed that pretty much everything she said was true (even if they personally are not into such a thing). Two of the three even decided that they want to now call themselves.

Who can say whether online psychics are real, legitimate, etc? I can say that my experience with the online psychic (via phone) was as real and legitimate to me as the readings that I have had done in person. So if you are the least bit interested in having a reading done, it’s worth it to try the package deal from AskNow.com because they really do try to create a good experience for their customers with psychics that they believe to be the real thing–and just might be!

I’m a sweet potato casserole lover. Every year at Thanksgiving I’m the one with second helpings plus finishing up the leftovers. Both my mom and my sister-in-law make the same sweet potato casserole, so no matter where I end up, I get my fix. Imagine how excited I was to see a box of Betty Crocker Sweet Potato Casserole mix at the grocery store today! I immediately changed dinner plans and grabbed a small ham to throw in the crockpot.

Assembling the casserole was easy enough. You bring milk, water, and butter to a boil. Then you stir in the “potato and seasoning” packets. When combined, it made a lumpy filling that looked just like the sweet potato casserole filling that I am used to. I then transferred the filling to a casserole dish and sprinkled it with a pecan streusel topping. Again, the dish was looking pretty familiar.

I popped the casserole in the oven to bake for 18-23 minutes, pretty excited about how it was looking. Then I got my first dose of reality. Before I washed the pan, I tasted the potato filling remaining on the spoon. It was not at all sweet. In fact, it tasted pretty much like regular mashed potatoes.

My husband was late for dinner and we ate without him. My kids liked the topping but not the potato part. I agree. It wasn’t nearly as sweet as I am used to. Ironically, my husband doesn’t usually like sweet potato casserole and said that he thought it was pretty good!

In all fairness, there is a recipe on the box to turn it into a sweet potato pie and that looks a lot more like what I am used to. But you have to add so many other ingredients to it (eggs, brown sugar, etc) that you might as well just make the thing from scratch if you are going to do that.

In the end, I think that the Betty Crocker Sweet Potato Casserole was very easy to make but truly a matter of taste. If you are accustomed to a sweet casserole, you may want to add some brown sugar to it. If you are not, it may be perfect for you. And on the plus side, I got a Box Top out of it!

Have you been thinking about signing up for one of those sites that pays you for taking surveys but are concerned about whether the surveys are legitimate? After months of experimenting, Helping Moms Connect is pleased to endorse NFO/MySurvey. Read our My Survey Reviews below:

My Survey Review From Cindy Ballard–

What’s really neat is that some of the surveys on consumer products I took a year ago are now hitting the market and I had prior knowledge to the products. When I see them in the stores or on TV advertised as new, I laugh because my input helped name them, or price them, or pick their flavors. I have had NFO send me products then use them for awhile and then complete a phone or online survey with them about the products. It’s fun, and best of all, you gain points that lead to either money, or a whole list of products to chose from.
My Survey Review From Tricia Meyer–

I have been taking the NFO surveys for about a year now, and I can truly say it is one of the best. I originally signed up with about 15 survey sites to see which one I liked best. This one is definitely it. Not only are the surveys fun, but they are very easy to take.

I am currently doing a beverage survey for them. I have a sheet where I have to fill out what I drink for an entire day, then I will give them the results. I’ve never earned money this easy before. The more surveys you fill out, and the more information you give them about yourself, the more surveys they will send you. Some of them are worth big points. Sign up today and try it.

I’m always skeptical about anything where I get “something for nothing.” When I heard that you could make money online for taking surveys, I was intrigued. The money isn’t huge, but it is a nice little extra.

So far, my favorite survey site is NFO/MySurvey. Why? First, the surveys are interesting. Sometimes you watch commercials, sometimes you tell about products you currently use, and sometimes you even have products sent to you. I especially like the new product surveys. Often you get to see markups of the advertising in advance. Some of the brands that I have given my opinion on include Jello, Huggies, and Saab.

A second reason that I like NFO is the ease of use. I get notified by email when there is a survey waiting for me. Sometimes I will get a few in a week. Other weeks I may only get one. They always clearly tell me in advance what I will get from the survey.

Finally, I like that I actually get paid! I was only in the program for a couple of months before I had enough points to request my first check. After I requested the check, it arrived within about two weeks. Not too bad! NFO is reputable company worth giving a try.
