| 101 Things to Do With a Cake Mix
By: Stephanie Ashcraft
This New York Times best seller from 2002 is a must have for all moms
young and old. I first saw it at Cracker Barrel and just took a few
minutes to flip through it. I commented to my husband that it would
make a nice stocking stuffer. Of course, that was back in the
summertime, and his memory only recalls the last 24-48 hours! Needless
to say, I did not find it on Christmas morning. Lucky for me, however,
my mother and I think alike. She too ran across this book in the
summertime and knew I would love it. I was excited to find it under her
tree.
Why so excited? Well, almost every pantry has a cake mix in it, and
if it doesn’t, you can pick one up for about a dollar. I’m always in a
hurry and in need of quick, easy recipes that have few ingredients.
These 101 ideas really will make desserts, potlucks, pitch-ins, office
parties, last minute get-togethers, and gift giving easier. There are
recipes for brownies, bars, cookies, fruity cakes, fancy cakes, bundt
cakes, muffins, breads, and fun kid stuff. All have one main
ingredient—a cake mix!
I love my copy and think you will, too. If you get one, go ahead and
buy two. Tie the second around a box of your favorite cake mix and give
it as a gift or special thank you. The recipient will be so excited!
